Room 202, Saturday Afternoon

Amicia would have liked to have said she had fully adjusted to her new situation, but that would be a lie. She had not adjusted to any situation in at least half a year, since her hyperawareness had given way to this... in-between life.
She had gone to the classes she had been told to go to. The rest of the time, bar infrequent trips to get something to eat, she had been here. In her room. Curled up on the bed, unsure of what to do with herself without the immediate need to procure food or water, tend to a garden, ensure her home wasn't cold (how was it warm here? She did not understand).
On Saturday afternoon, though, something in her mind had gently uncurled. She had opened the door, gone out to get a drink and something to eat-- and left the door open when she'd returned to her room.
She sat on her bed now, staring at the window. Trying to find a further way out of this fog.

She pulled it back long enough to type in translation app and get... "Vous avez un application de traduction?"

"Not vous," she tried. "Tu. Vous is... older. Important." She leaned into the phone again to speak. She held it up, and the metallic voice said dutifully, "It is meant to be used to speak to your elders and your betters. I am neither."

"So, how are you is...'comment allez-tu'?"
Look, she was trying.

"Anything I can help with?" she asked it, holding it up for the French to play.
